About the project
I never showed my work in public. Never thought I would but when I started working at Van Beek Art Supplies, the biggest art supplies store in The Netherlands. I came in contact with a different side of art. One I wasn’t familiar with. Where organizing and showing your work at art exhibitions was part of being an artist. Part of the process.
A few colleagues and me decided to do a show together. To share the costs but also to support each other since it was the first time for some of us.
I decided to do graphite portraits of the “Universal Movie Monsters”. These classic movies have helped shape cinema and the movie industry and have been a great inspiration for me.
The expo was a great success and an amazing experience and I was very happy to have sold 3 pieces right then and there.
